We humans are good at convincing ourselves that saying nothing about the potential hazards to others absolves us of any wrongdoing. After all, no proof exists that a drug produced with our tacit or explicit approval has harmed (or killed) another person.
I, myself, have been in a position of knowing of potential harms, yet said nothing. A drug my lab was developing killed all the test animals (twice) during toxicity studies- we were told to say nothing, and I said nothing.
That drug went through clinical trials (using test subjects purposely selected as least likely to die,) and that drug is on the market today.
The supervisors on this project would all be considered to be reputable and "good" people, yet they knowingly approved a toxic drug. And, while some of us were uncomfortable with that decision, we said nothing.
And, given the bureaucratic machinery of establishment medicine, with an incentive structure that favors making unethical and immoral decisions, even if we had said something, the most likely outcome would have been loss of our own jobs.
For 35 years, I worked in and personally observed the medical and pharmaceutical field. Then came 5 years of covid hoax revelations. At this point, I am convinced that except for a handful of rare exceptions, every drug on the market has a high potential for harm and a benefit that approaches zero.
This sordid tale of Serepta is one note nail in the coffin of callous behavior which causes the death of fellow human beings (in this case, children,) and it puts a knot in my stomach to hear. RFK? MAHA? Death to Americans is their legacy just as with prior "guardians" of "safe" "medications."

I still can't understand how any company would be able to market a treatment for 3 million to begin with. Are there customers out there for such things? Even if they worked?
