What was the motivation of Stalin and Mao to engineer Holodomor and other famous starvations?
Were they doing it just for fun? Was it for ideology? or was it for both, OR PERHAPS NEITHER?

After all, it took both those civilizations from backwards agrarian peasant cultures to industrial super powers with A bombs and all the tech power needed to make starvation unnecessary.
