I was looking at some new proposals for Nasal spray vaccines, which can have neurological complications as they can track up the nerve fibres from the cribriform plate into the brain.
The nasal spray vaccines are viral vector formulations so they contain DNA. So I think they lie outside this announcement of the shutting down of mRNA injections.
If this is so, it is a clever use of words to deceive people into believing that genetic transfection will stop.
It is a little difficult to be certain which projects are continuing as websites are not necessarily completely up to date after the recent announcements. I have been looking at the nasal spray vaccines for Sars-cov-2.
I think this may come under "restructuring of collaborations...affecting nucleic acid based projects..."
However the intranasal and inhaled vaccines all appear to be formulated with a viral vector of some kind - (like the ChadOx vaccine was) and a DNA spike antigen as far as I can tell..
They cannot use liposomes (LNPs) in these formulations.
So they are probably not "mRNA" and may not be included in the recent cancellations. If anyone has a link to the currently fully funded nasal vaccines in trial for Sars-Cov-2 I would be grateful to see it.
